Greenwards

For the first time in my life I have joined a political party, the green party! a difficult bridge to cross, I have never believed in any party enough to be moved to affiliate or vote for one. Though I have some doubts about the green party also as I would any political party I feel they are certainly more progressive than any of the other choices.

I have always believed that the whole system is wrong so by advocating any part of it you are only encouraging hem! that said abstaining does little to change things radically either so what the hell I will engage with the flawed process. With less than 50% of the population voting I always believed that ‘we’ he great un-voting majority had won so should be left to self rule, but alas it has never panned out that way!

So onwards! upwards! Greenwards!!!

The Invisible Journey

The Invisible Journey was really well attended and sold out each of its 3 night run for Mayfest. Limited capacity meant a lot of people couldn’t get in to see it but the good news is that the Tobacco Factory want to put the show on for 3 nights, 22nd to 24th Sept!

Doug Francisco, the chameleon-like ring master of the Invisible circus, presents a multiphrenic one-man cabaret of stories and characters from his own adventures around the world.

Delving into his past as a street performer in Europe, Francisco invokes a plethora of potent eccentrics in a variety of shady and sublime locations, from Portuguese jails, to the Moroccan mountains. he tells stories of his journeys and adventures in the pursuit of positive change and solidarity with the dream of bringing the show to the stage.

This show is a medley of schizophrenic voices and faces from the past, all conversing across different chapters, the theatricality of the ringmaster contrasting with the gritty realism of the other characters as the stories and chapters of memories are presented as acts in the cabaret of life. a one-man carnival of storytelling, physical comedy and song, Doug Francisco parodies without prejudice, invoking the dreams, memories and nightmares of his own European parade. The Invisible Journey somersaults into the tft after a sell-out run at this year’s Mayfest.

Doug Francisco is an incomparable force of nature… a fascinating glimpse into the mind of a fascinating manBristol Culture
